Cape Verde’s Defense
Cape Verde has official public duty for men from the age of 18 with initial service of 14 months after selection. The total force figures for the Cape Verde armed forces are 1,200 active personnel (2018, IISS).
The army has a workforce of 1,000 active personnel. The army is easily equipped. Materials include ten light trucks and light artillery.
The Air Force has a personnel force of about 100 active personnel, and three light transport aircraft.
The Coast Guard has a personnel force of about 100 active personnel, five patrol vessels and one light transport aircraft.
