The development team of Google Docs has just announced on its official blog that the next few weeks the service will also begin to function as a virtual disk with 1 GB capacity for any extension files, into something more than a simple suite online office.
“Instead of sending an e-mail with attachments to yourself, which is especially complicated in the case of other large files, the user can upload files of any length with up to 250 MB in size to Google Docs,” said Vijai Bangaru, development manager of the online suite. If you find that only 1 GB is enough for your demand, the web giant conveniently warns that each additional gigabyte of storage cost to the tune of $ 0.25 per year.
The option of shared folders Google Docs as we know it today will be available for new as well as the possibility to share your files with certain users or groups.
According to the company itself the implementation of the storage service will happen gradually, and, like the Orkut, users will be notified of the activation in their accounts through “a notice on the screen.”
