Even though completed in 1957, the well-known Mille Miglia race hasn’t been forgotten by Chopard, which since 1988 has become the first brand of watch making to invest in a classic car competition. For this same reason, manufacture Switzerland celebrates the ninetieth anniversary since the birth of the race with a limited edition of the Mille Miglia Classic XL 90th.
Once dubbed “the most beautiful race in the world”, the Mille Miglia was a test of endurance with a thousand miles (1600 kilometers) taking place in Italy, but that ended in 1957 with the Ferrari to win eight of the last 10 edits. The race had an interruption until 1977, returning as an event for vintage cars and classic vehicles limited participation will have been produced before, precisely, 1957.
